BST Week 2026 will run from 26 to 31 October at the Department of Biosystems Technology, Faculty of Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Across the week, industry experts and alumni will interact closely with current students through talks, competitions, exhibitions and outreach programs.
BST Week gives students a platform to showcase their hard skills, meaning the technical and analytical competencies gained through coursework and practical training. It also lets them show their soft skills: communication, teamwork, leadership and problem-solving.
Through this range of activities, the event aims to strengthen industry-academia linkages and alumni ties, and to give students valuable exposure and confidence for their future careers. Outreach activities open to the public and to school children extend its impact to more groups.
