The 8th Employability Skills Awards (JESA), the awarding ceremony organized by the Career Skills Development Society, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, was held on the 15th of December 2023 from 6.00 pm onwards at the Golden Rose Hotel, Boralesgamuwa. This is the only employability award program organized and conducted in the Sri Lankan university system to enhance the students’ skills and capabilities.
JESA awards are presented to admire and recognize the talented undergraduates from each Faculty of the University who have actively engaged in extracurricular activities to enhance their soft skills.
Representing the faculty of Technology, Heshan Samaranayake, Danushika Lakmali and, Madushan Dhananjaya won the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places of BESA -FOT award 2023 respectively, while Niduk Madhushan won the 3rd place of JESA Best young entrepreneur award 2023. Danushika and Madushan are final-year students of the Industrial Biosystems Technology specialized area, Department of Biosystems Technology, whereas Heshan and Niduk belong to the Department of Engineering Technology.
