Environmental Stewardship

Faculty Wastewater Treatment

The practice of night soil treatment has been a consistent and integral part of our Faculty of Technology since its inception. By implementing the comprehensive eight-step process, we have effectively managed human waste, minimizing health and environmental risks, and recycling valuable nutrients for beneficial purposes. This sustainable approach aligns with our commitment to responsible waste management, fostering a cleaner and more eco-conscious environment within our academic community.

Compost production within the Faculty of Technology

In the Faculty of Technology, we take an active and hands-on approach to compost production, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the right balance of green and brown materials, proper aeration, and moisture levels. Our students engage in this process, gaining valuable practical experience. The resulting compost serves as a fantastic eco-friendly soil amendment that not only supports plant growth but also contributes to our commitment to environmental sustainability. By using our homemade compost for landscaping activities, we reduce costs for conventional fertilizers, further demonstrating the practical benefits of this sustainable practice.

Rainwater Harvesting System

At our university, we are committed to sustainability and environmental consciousness. One of the initiatives that exemplify this commitment is the Rainwater Harvesting System, located in our faculty. This sustainable water management initiative reflects our commitment to both environmental stewardship and the aesthetic enhancement of our campus.

Our Rainwater Harvesting System consists of a network of strategically placed collection points across the faculty. These collection points channel rainwater directed into the storage pond. The pond is an eye-catching place in the faculty, enhancing the natural beauty of our surroundings. It serves as a visual delight to students, staff, and visitors alike. This not only reduces reliance on conventional water sources but also minimizes our environmental impact. Moreover, it contributes to a greener faculty concept and serves as an educational tool, demonstrating the principles of sustainable water management to our students.

Rainwater harvesting system showcases our commitment to sustainability and the harmonious integration of nature within our academic environment. It is a testament to our dedication to preserving our planet’s precious resources while creating a breathtaking atmosphere for all to enjoy.
