Holistic Development Circle (HDC) is initiated by the Career Guidance Cell of the faculty of technology under the Career Guidance Unit of University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The main objective of HDC is to build competent professionals for the world of work. HDC’s main focus is to cater the undergraduates for each academic year concerning their academic, career and psychosocial challenges.
Activities
1st year students –
- Building rapport with the new comer
- Identify the adoption related problems with unfamiliar environment/ or other psycho-social issues
- Providing guidance to choose subjects according to their career choice
- Developing social skills to contribute well being of needy population in the society (introducing interpersonal development activities)
2nd year –
- Intervention for psycho-social issues of the students
- Personality development activities ( self-assessment, techniques to overcome value dilemmas, personal and conflict management,
- Developing social care projects
3rd year –
- Intervention for psycho-social issues of the students
- Developing employability skills / leadership skills
- Introducing entrepreneurship skills and designing an organization / industry
- Developing social care projects collaboration with other universities/ organizations/ GOs or NGOs
4th year –
- Assessment of holistic development of the personality
- Experience sharing conference of holistic development
- Psychological workshop on happy family, happy employee, happy citizen
- Back to village – Reflection program
