Welcome to the Department of Civil and Environmental Technology (CET) at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Whether you are a prospective undergraduate, a postgraduate student, a research collaborator, an alumnus, or an enthusiast in Civil and Environmental Technology got something to offer.
CET department is dedicated to the advancement of the undergraduate education in Civil and Environmental Technology and to the conduct of research under its many diverse spectra of applications. We develop, apply, discover, and disseminate knowledge in Civil and Environmental Technology towards the Construction, Energy, Geotechnical, Building Services and Utilization of Environmental resources.
The Department of Civil and Environmental Technology was established in 2020 with a view to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for world-class civil and environmental technology practice. The Department of CET will accommodate 99 students out of 198 Engineering Technology students for the 2019/2020 intake to aforementioned focused areas.
The selection of these focused areas of study will be based on students’ preferences and performances in the first year of study. Courses in the programs are multidisciplinary teaching Mathematics, Science, and Engineering fundamentals, as well as essential tools and skills for an Engineering Technologist.
The Department of Civil and Environmental Technology (CET), University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ), is one of the largest and well-established Departments within the Technology Faculties in Sri Lanka. The CET Department currently accommodates over 250 undergraduate students, 12 postgraduates, 16 Academic Staff Members, 8 Academic Support Staff Members, 6 Technical Officers and Laboratory Personnel. The key strength of the Department is the highly qualified Academic Staff, with each member having postgraduate qualifications from a reputable University in the country or abroad and is also well-recognized in their respective field of research.
