Construction and Building Services Technology Laboratory Facilities

CBST laboratories are equipped with basic and modern technological instruments and designed to facilitate students with their technology practical and research activities. CBST undergraduates and researchers have the opportunity to work with these instruments and acquire valuable practical hands-on experience. CBST owns and manage four laboratories.

  • Material Testing Laboratory
  • Surveying Laboratory
  • Fluid laboratory
  • Concrete Testing Laboratory

Materials Testing Laboratory

Materials Testing Laboratory in the Department of Civil and Environmental Technology enables advanced research studies and innovations related to construction materials by providing expert knowledge and access to the following state-of-the-art equipment.
  • Odometer
  • Liquid Limit test apparatus
  • Plastic Limit set
  • Standard and modified proctor setups
  • Sample Extruder
  • Riffle box
  • Oven
  • Electronic Balance

Surveying Laboratory

The surveying laboratory mainly conducts practicals for Engineering Technology Undergraduates to learn basics and instrument handling of engineering surveying equipment. The laboratory is equipped with the following equipment.
  • Prismless Total (onboard) Station (TOPCON )
  • Digital Theodolite (TOPCON)
  • Auto level
  • Tribrachs and prism attachments

Concrete Testing Laboratory

The concrete testing laboratory primarily supports undergraduate teaching by providing the necessary testing facilities to assess the quality of cement, concrete, and aggregate. The CET department is in the process of acquiring modern equipment for The Concrete Testing Laboratory to enhance its capabilities in conducting non-destructive testing and field testing.

Fluids Laboratory

Fluids Laboratory is equipped with modern technological instruments and designed to facilitate students with their technology practical and research activities.
Engineering Technology undergraduates and researchers have the opportunity to work with the following instruments and acquire valuable practical hands-on experience.

  • Reynolds flow apparatus
  • Hydraulic Flume
  • Floating body apparatus
  • Fluid friction apparatus
  • Bernoulli’s apparatus
