In August 2023, the Department of Biosystems Technology at the Faculty of Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, convened its semester-start Student Staff Liaisons Committee (SSLC-BST) meeting. This meeting provided a platform for fruitful discussions between staff and students while offering an opportunity to acknowledge the outgoing student members from the 2018 batch.
Led by the Chairperson and Head of the Department, Dr. Dhanushka Udayanga, and the Coordinator of SSLC-BST, Dr. H.K.B.S. Chamara, the SSLC-BST meeting fostered a dynamic exchange of ideas between academic staff and student representatives from the three specialization areas of the Department. These conversations focused on enriching the teaching and learning process and yielded actionable strategies to tackle challenges and elevate academic excellence.
A significant moment during the meeting was the heartfelt recognition bestowed upon the outgoing student representatives from the 2018 batch. These students, who played a vital role in shaping the committee’s initiatives, were awarded certificates of appreciation for their unwavering commitment.
