Personal Profile

Dr. A.G. Sankalya Ambagaspitiya, a microbiologist, receives her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Plant Biotechnology from University of Colombo (2010). She obtained her M.Sc. in Microbiology (2014) at Texas Tech University and Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology at The University of Texas at Dallas (2019), USA, with research in clinical microbiology. She joined the Department of Biosystems Technology, Faculty of Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura as a Senior Lecturer in 2020.

Research Keywords: Environmental Microbiology, Clinical Microbiology, Biofertilizers, Endophytes in medicinal plants.

Other Activities: Teaching for Primary Age Children, Bird Watching
