The Agriculture and Environmental Technology (AET) Focus Area is one of the three focus areas offered under the Bachelor of Biosystems Technology Honors Degree Program in the Department of Biosystems Technology. The AET program is geared towards producing highly skilled Agricultural and Environmental Technology graduates to move the Sri Lankan economy forward and revitalize the current agricultural sector through advanced technology. Accordingly, the AET curriculum mainly focuses on soilless cultivation technologies, farm machinery and automation, plantation crop management technologies, organic agricultural product processing technologies, composting technologies, crop production technologies, waste management technologies, biotechnology, animal feed processing technologies, animal product technologies that are rich in many fascinating topics in emerging technologies and have been meticulously tailored to produce multi-talented technologists to meet the growing demand in the country.
