Personal Profile

Dr.Chithranie Wijayasundara graduated from University of Sri Jayewardenepura in 2001 with an honours degree in Bachelor of Physics. She received her M.Sc in Industrial Mathematics from the same university in 2008.  She joined Measurement Units, Standards and Services Department (MUSSD) which is the National Metrology Institute of Sri Lanka as a Sri Lanka Scientific Service Officer in 2006. Dr. Wijayasundara obtained her Ph.D. in Science of Measurement from University of Science of Technology, Republic of Korea in 2018. Her campus was Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS).  In 2021, she joined the Faculty of Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura as a senior lecturer.

Research Interests

Metrology (the science of measurement) ensures a better quality of life. It plays a vital role in almost everything in our lives such as healthcare, transport, manufacturing, science, trade, energy and safety. Without correct measurements, satisfying our requirements is a challenge. Therefore, my researches are focused on developing technical solutions for metrology-related applications for a better life of the community.
