The Department of Civil and Environmental Technology warmly welcomed its 9th batch of undergraduate students at a Welcome Programme held on 24 March 2026 at Lecture Hall FF01.
The event commenced with a Welcome Address by Dr. Sakura Bogoda, Head of Department, who extended a warm welcome to the incoming students and offered words of encouragement as they begin their academic journey.
This was followed by an Academic Address by Prof. Asanka Weerasekara, covering key aspects of academic life in the department — including performance criteria, grading, evaluation guidelines, assignment submission procedures, and the academic regulations and expectations students are required to uphold.
Students were also introduced to the Civil and Environmental Technology Student Society (CETSS), which outlined its activities, clubs, events, and opportunities for student involvement beyond the classroom.
The department looks forward to supporting the 9th batch as they embark on their four-year Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Honours) journey across the specialisations of Energy & Environmental Technology, Construction & Building Services Technology, and Geotechnology.
