The four-day certificate course on Environmental Management Systems (EMS) organized by the Department of Civil and Environmental Technology at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in collaboration with The Norwegian Partnership Programme for Global Academic Cooperation (NORPART 2021), was successfully completed contributing to capacity building in environmental management. The course provided comprehensive training on key aspects of EMS, including an overview of the EMS frameworks, continuous improvement and reporting, principles of energy management and their integration into EMS, the development and implementation of an EMS, as well as ISO 14001 certification and external audits. A wide array of participants join the course comprising entry and mid level professionals of industry. The course consisted of in class sessions, panel discussions, group activities and field excursion to enhance the learning experience.
