The Food Processing Technology (FPT) Day 2023, organized by the FPT students of the Department of Biosystems Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, was successfully held on 11th October 2023, from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm at the Faculty of Technology.
The FPT day activities were successfully executed, featuring an industrial workshop on “Facing challenges in the Food Industry” with the presence of the keynote speaker Commodore Senaka Hanwella (Retd), General Manager, CBL Exports (Pvt) Limited, Prof. Renuka Nilmini, Dean, Faculty of Technology, Dr. Dhanushka Udayanga, Head, Department of Biosystems Technology, Faculty of Technology, academic staff members, and a few Alumni speakers (Ms. Sarada Wickramarathna, Ms. Umayangani Geekiyanage, and Ms. Buddhi Kaumadi Kodikara). As part of this day, the FPT students conducted a lively food fiesta and an impressive showcase of undergraduate technology workshop projects. These events aimed to provide a platform where students can proudly exhibit their exceptional strengths, competencies, and abilities, allowing their unique talents to shine. Without the dedication and commitment of the students, success in these events would not have been possible.
